About the P13 Subsidy Scholarship
The Perpetual Education 13 (P13) Subsidy Scholarship is a partnership between Pacific Assist PNG and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Papua New Guinea. It exists to help member families keep their children in school by partially subsidising fees from Pre-School through Year 12, FODE, and TVET programs.
How it works
Families apply once per child per school year. Each application is submitted to a local facilitator, who reviews it together with the applicant’s ward or branch leader. Approved subsidies are paid directly to the school. Families pay the remaining 15% (or more) of the fees as their contribution.
Category limits (PGK)
- Pre-School — up to K600 per child per year
- Year 1 to Year 12 — up to K2,000 per child per year
- FODE / TVET — up to K1,600 per student per year
Application rounds for 2026
- Round 1 closes 21 August 2026
- Round 2 closes 24 April 2026
Country funding pool
Across all categories and both rounds, the country-wide subsidy pool is capped at PGK 576,000. Applications are processed in the order received and may be declined or reduced once the pool is exhausted.
Who is eligible
Active members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Papua New Guinea whose families have completed the Help Your Children Succeed in School course and who are endorsed by their local ward or branch leader.
