Frequently asked questions
Common questions about the P13 Subsidy Scholarship. If your question isn’t here, please contact your local facilitator.
Who can apply for the P13 Subsidy Scholarship?
Active members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Papua New Guinea whose family has completed the "Help Your Children Succeed in School" course and who can be endorsed by their local Bishop, Branch President, or other ward/branch leader.
How much can I receive?
Pre-School: up to PGK 600. Year 1 to Year 12: up to PGK 2,000. FODE / TVET: up to PGK 1,600. These are per child, per school year. Your family must pay the remaining 15% (or more) of total fees directly to the school.
What documents do I need to upload?
A school invoice or pro-forma invoice, receipt or proof of your 15% family contribution, the latest two school reports, the signed application form from your Church leader, and your "Help Your Children Succeed in School" certificate. Each file must be a PDF, JPG, or PNG and no larger than 10 MB.
When are applications due?
There are two rounds in 2026. Round 1 closes on 21 August 2026 and Round 2 closes on 24 April 2026. Late applications cannot be processed.
How do I edit my application after submitting?
After submitting, you will receive a receipt number (e.g. P13-2026-XXXXXX) and a private edit code. Go to the "Resume / edit" page and enter both to reopen and update your application. Each edit creates a new revision and re-notifies your facilitator.
I lost my edit code — what do I do?
For security, edit codes cannot be recovered. Please contact your local facilitator directly. They can reset your application or accept changes on your behalf.
Who decides if my application is approved?
Your local facilitator reviews each application with the ward/branch leader. Decisions are based on completeness, eligibility, fund availability, and the country-wide funding cap of PGK 576,000.
When and how is the subsidy paid?
Approved subsidies are paid directly to the school listed on your invoice. The family is responsible for paying the remaining balance (the family contribution) directly to the school.
Can I apply for more than one child?
Yes. Please submit a separate application for each child.
What happens if my application is incomplete?
Incomplete applications will not be processed and may be declined. Please double-check that every required document is uploaded and every section is filled in before submitting.
